The fine folks from Purex and Combat sent me FREE Combat Ant Killing Bait Strips to try. Here's what their website says: "ANT KILLING BAIT STRIPS Combat® Ant Killing Bait Strips help get rid of ants. These ant killing bait strips are formulated to attract ants quickly – acting as a necessary food and water supply for ants. Its fast-acting insecticide, Fipronil, one of the most powerful ant killers, starts to exterminate ants in hours. Keep bait strips away from open foods and food contact surfaces. Do not apply bait strips on food/feed preparation surfaces. Ant Killing Bait Strips are for indoor and outdoor (adjacent to the home) use. Break strips apart. To place strip in a chosen location indoors or outdoors (adjacent to the home), peel off protective film on the bottom of the strip marked “Remove to Adhere.” Stick the strip to a clean surface. Discard film in the trash. USE ALL BAIT STRIPS AT ONE TIME. To activate the strip, peel off the protective film on the top of the strip marked “Peel Here.” Do not spray insecticide on or around the strips as sprays will contaminate baits and reduce effectiveness. Replace strips after 3 months." "Benefits: One of the fastest active ingredients you can buy to kill ants. Insect nerve poison kills ants by contact or ingestion. New discreet design starts killing ants in hours so you can see immediate results. High secondary colony kill. Kills ants in a domino effect, eliminating the source of the infestation. Easy-to-apply to hard-to-reach areas." http://www.combatbugs.com/product/ant-killing-bait-strips What I say is: I tried the strips against the tiny black ants that have been getting into the house this spring, and I think they did a pretty good job. They haven't gotten 100% of the little buggers yet, but there are certainly far fewer, and it wouldn't surprise me if eventually they all get bumped off. The strips are easy to use, make no mess, and emitted no odor that I could smell. If you've got an ant problem, give 'em a try. One of you can try them for FREE!! Email me describing your ant problem, and I'll pick a random person to get a free package by the end of the weekend.
